City Manager, Jim Gabbard, visits VBPS

It was the Friday Night Social (FNS) at the Vero Beach Power Squadron (VBPS). These socials are held at the VBPS Building at 301 Acacia Road, right next to the William Barber Bridge.

My wife and I went early last night. We read an email from our Commander Bill Heimbaugh, earlier in the week that promised a great hors d'oeuvres selection and he also mentioned something about a special guest, who was invited.

Our Friday night host, the Boarmans, had invited our Vero Beach City Manager, Mr. Jim Gabbard, who did make an appearance. I met him and took the opportunity to shoot a few photos of the early birds and our guest of honor. Bette Juliano also took pictures and hers came out better than mine so I put hers in the story.

Mr. Robert W. Boarman, (AKA Woody) was spending his time speaking with Mr. Gabbard about the club, what we do, how we serve the community and introducing him to members as they came in the building. His lovely wife, Karen, along with Krysta and others were serving the hungry crowd.

It was a great Friday Night Social.
