ABC in December

The Vero Beach Power Squadron will be holding a weekend America's Boating Course (ABC) which is sponsored by the United States Power Squadrons. The course has been approved by the National Association of State Boating Law Administrators (NASBLA), and is accepted by most states to meet boating license or safety certification requirements. Most states recognize ABC as meeting their education requirements. The course material covers seven chapters, which touch on:
· General information about boats and maintenance
· Information to make your boating experience safer and more comfortable
· Tips on being a more courteous boat operator
· Laws and regulations to which you must adhere
The purpose of America's Boating Course is to teach introductory safe boating techniques. As an introductory course, ABC does not cover such topics as the use of a nautical compass or the techniques of plotting courses.
The class will be held at 301 Acacia Road in Vero Beach, just over the Barber Bridge, next to the boat launching area.
The dates are December 6 and 7. The class will start at 9AM and go to 1 PM. Please pre-register by calling Howard at 772-978-9769. The class materials cost is $30.
