Poker Run

POKER RUN on the Indian River

Contributed by: Robert Scully on 1/22/2008

The Vero Beach Power Squadron(VBPS) will host the annual Poker Run which start at 9:30 in the morning on Saturday February 9. This is boating activity on the Indian River. Bring your boat to the launch ramp near the Barber Bidge adjacent to the Riverside Cafe.

There is a $11 donation required which will cover the hamburgers, hotdogs, soda and beer, which will be served at the squadron building following the run. The winner of the event will be presented at this time.

How it works - There are designated locations where you pick a card from the VBPS member at that location, in the Indian River. There are several locations which will be identified so you can get a card. You only get 1 card per location. There will be at least 5 stops to make, as it is a game of poker. The 3 people who have the best poker hand win the prizes. The first card will be handed out at the Vero Beach Yatch Club dock on the port side of the vessel Southern Star. She is a big one so you can't miss her. Prizes are for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place.

For more information call Bill at 360-0132 or stop by The Power Squadron Building after 5:00 PM on Fridays. Check out our website www.verobeachps.org/ for lots of information on this local boating organization.
