Community Service Support

Thank you Vero Beach Power Squadron (VBPS)

The Vero Beach Power Squadron donated the facility at 301Acacia Road to several 2010 Census Groups. The facility was used to collect data obtained by the enumerators (the field agents), from the Vero Beach residents during the last few months.

There were numerous phases of the 2010 Census and many teams working various areas in and around Indian River County.

One phase called Non Response Follow-up or NRFU had a team of 18 individuals, all local residents, who worked for the US Department of Commerce US Census Bureau. They met at the VBPS daily in May and June. This group worked a defined area of Vero Beach and met at the VBPS to turn in Enumerator Questionnaires (EQs).

The second phase defined as Non Response follow-up (NRFU) Vacate Delete Check (VDC) also met at the VBPS. This was a follow-up to the last go around and included cases for housing units that had not been done before. A team of 15 individuals met at the VBPS in July.

The 3rd phase was called Non Response Follow-up Residual or NRFU RES. A group of 10 met during August at 10:30 am daily to turn in completed enumerator questionnaires, binders and timesheets.

All the action for the groups mentioned has been completed and in most cases all bags, badges and other government materials have been returned to the Local Census Office in Port St Lucie.

The NRFU, NRFU VDC and the NRFU RES Teams would like to thank the VBPS for allowing us to meet at your facility over the last few months.
